Security Tool is a dangerous spyware that is but a clone from another one called Total Security 2009. It will but use scam related methods to trick people to buy some kind of full (and fake) version of this program. The main way such a spyware will try to scare PC users is using fake alerts besides false pop-ups. Check here Security Tool to learn how to remove Security tool.
Security Tool gets installed on user systems via Trojans that get downloaded from fake websites which promote on-line web scanners which are, in reality, fake. Hijacking your web browser is the next step those Trojans will do. Then your browser will be redirected to some download links that will download and install that threat (Security Tool). Another trick used by this spyware to infect PC is to redirect your browsing attempt to web pages like 2tvtube.com and a2tv.com: both of them are fake websites. On those sites, the used is asked to download a video codec which seems to be a Flash application. What really happens when the user attempts to download this codec is the download and installation of Security Tool on the users computer. Anothe way used to install that spyware is to redirect the end-user to a given webpage with a title as “My Computer Online Scan”, That site will pretend to be an online system scan of My Computer. This scan will return results that state that the My Computer folder is infected with dangerous malware and the user will be given a prompt with the options Yes and No. No matter what you choose, the result will be the same: you will automatically download and install Security Tool on your PC. This site Security Tool Removal Windows 7 has all the infos you do need if you want to remove Security Tool when having Windows 7 on your PC while here Security Tool you will learn how to remove Security Tool.
Once it has infected a computer, this threat will configure itself to load in memory every time you do boot your system, it will then process to do a fake system scan of your PC. You will then get many warnings, alerts, and more telling your that your computer system has been compromised by lots of viruses. Here are some alerts you might get : “Your Computer is infected” or “Warning! 55 viruses found!”. Some possible warnings you might get about your Internet browser includes things like “Spyware.IEMonster activity detected”.
This is all spyware that attempts to steal passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook and other programs. Others possibilities include warnings like “Click here to remove it immediately with Security Tool’ or “Security Tool Warning: Some critical system files of your computer were modified by malicious program”. It may cause system instability and data loss. Click here to block unauthorized modification by removing threats (Recommended). Sometimes your computer system might not be able to detect USB flash drives being connected to your PC mostly because Security Tool won’t allow it. A large number of warning pop-ups will also be generated from the Windows Taskbar when Security Tool is active.
So the moment you want to take into account what Security Tool is telling you and you are ready to clean your PC, this malware will say that the actual version you have is but a trial one that cannot remove all those threats and that you need to upgrade to the full version (a paying one). No matter what you will eventually pay (or not), the registered version of Security Tool is not able at all to remove any threats from your computer because they were simply non existent ones. So it is very important for you to stay way from this scam.
The best method to remove Security Tool is to use a good antivirus solution (or a similar web service) that is going to scan and fully clean your system.
